Ms. Dawn Lam has worked in public education for 15 years and most recently served as a secondary English Language Arts (ELA) teacher on special assignment for the Tustin Unified School District. She joined TUSD in 2014 as an English teacher at Beckman High School.
Additionally, Ms. Lam has served as a TUSD Connect technology fellow and implemented and shared best practices for using technology effectively in the classroom. She has participated in several site and district leadership teams for advancing English learners, English language arts and writing. She also helped create a program called TUSD Writers, a cohesive writing program that supports all students.
Prior to joining the District, Ms. Lam was an English teacher and ELA teacher on special assignment at El Rancho High School in Pico Rivera, where she was named Teacher of the Year.
Ms. Lam has a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of California, Irvine, and a master’s degree in curriculum, instruction and assessment from Walden University in Minnesota.
Outside the classroom, Ms. Lam is a member of the UCI Writing Project and Computer Using Educators (CUE) Organization.
