The TUSD Board of Education met on Monday, March 13, and passed an emergency resolution in response to the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. The TUSD Board of Education extended its resolution on March 30. As a result, all Tustin Unified schools including Tustin Adult School will be closed from Monday, March 23, through Friday, May 29, 2020.
This decision was reached after considering the health and safety of TUSD students and staff, the guidance provided by the State of California, and in consultation with Orange County public health and education agencies. The TUSD Board recognizes the importance of schools in the lives of students and families, thus, this was not an easy decision, nor one taken lightly.
Tustin Adult School will work to provide an educational experience for our students through distance learning. Teachers will follow the directive from Governor Newsom and work from home to set up a remote learning model for our programs in English as a Second Language (ESL), Adult Basic Education (ABE), High School Diploma (HSD) / High School Equivalency (HSE) and computer classes. Teachers will reach out to students during the week of March 23 to 28. Please do not come to any of the school locations or classrooms. The Adult School Office will be closed. This is for the health and well being of our community.
