TUSD is now accepting applications for Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten Readiness preschool

For Transitional Kindergarten:

Tustin Unified School District is now accepting applications for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) for the 2022-23 school year.  The State has expanded the eligibility criteria for TK to include any child who will turn 5 years old from September 2 through February 2.  This FREE program is 5.5 hours per day and is offered at many of the District’s elementary school sites.  To enroll, visit the District website at www.tustin.k12.ca.us and click on the “Enrollment” tab. For more information, call your local elementary school or the Kindergarten Readiness office at (714) 730-7592.

For Kindergarten Readiness:

Tustin Unified School District is now accepting applications for the Kindergarten Readiness preschool program for the 2022-23 school year.   Students who are 3 or 4 years old on or before December 2, 2022 are age eligible to participate.  Parents have a choice of three preschool options:

  • Half-day, state subsidized classes – these classes are FREE, but families must qualify for the program based on their family size and income.  Office staff will assist families in determining if they qualify.
  • Half-day, fee-based class – parents pay a tuition to participate in the morning class (8:30 – 11:30) at Heritage Elementary.
  • Full day, fee-based – parents pay a tuition to participate in a full day class (7:00 am – 4:30 pm) at Hicks Canyon or Myford Elementary.

For more information or to make an enrollment appointment, please call the Kindergarten Readiness office at (714) 730-7592.
