IMPORTANT upcoming EVENTS & DATES:
  • FRIDAY, MAY 17th DURING SCHOOL: 8th Grade Exit Interview.  (STUDENTS ONLY)
  • MONDAY, MAY 20th from 8:00am - 6:00pm: 8th Grade Disneyland Trip. (STUDENTS ONLY)
  • THURSDAY, MAY 23rd from 5:30pm - 7:00pm at OH QUAD: 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony
    • LIMIT OF 4 CEREMONY TICKETS PER STUDENT
    • Promotion Handshake Photos 2019:  South Coast Photgraphic will be capturing all student receiving their Promotion Certificate on May 23.  Proofs will be available online at www.southcoastphotographic.com.  Pre-Register online prior to the event and receive $5 off orders of $25 or more.  Enter code "ORCH19" to be notified when images are available for viewing and ordering.  Go to our main page and click on the commencement ceremony icon, then pre-registration.  Questions, please call 714-630-8584, ext. 103.

PURPOSE
  • Showcase a collection of our students best work and accomplishments
  • Students describe progress made toward the ESLRS
  • Give community leaders the chance to observe the accomplishments of our future leaders
PART 1 - The Notebook
The format is up to the student… (Binder, iPad, Haiku, Flash-drive)
Set up the following sections:
  • English/Language Arts
  • Reading
  • Social Studies
  • Math
  • Science
  • Electives
  • PE
  • ESLRS
  • My Element

(You are encouraged to include photos of your completed work and accomplishments)

PART 2 - The Interview (One-on-One)
Each Student will respond to the following 7 questions:
  1. Please show me (and describe) a work sample you are most proud of.
  2. Please describe for me how you have become an effective communicator at Orchard Hills.
  3. Please describe how you have been challenged at OH to think critically and independently.
  4. Please describe for me what it means to be a productive and responsible citizen.
  5. Describe how you have worked towards the attainment of your Element.
  6. Is there anything else you would like to share with me?
  7. Do you have any questions for me? OR Interviewer may choose to share about his/her own career.
