8th Grade Information

High School Information for Incoming Freshmen - Fall 2018

Important Parent Information Regarding Beckman

My name is Donnie Rafter and I am the principal at Beckman High School. This time of year is when 8th grade parents and students traditionally start thinking about high school and considering what classes, sports, or other activities they will pursue. In an effort to ease their minds and assist with answering questions, I want to provide you with some places you or the students can go to find the answers to many of the questions they may already have. Keep in mind that our counselors will be visiting the middle schools on two separate days in March and April for Orientation and Course Selection.

  • MARCH 12 thru MARCH 18: Counselors at Middle Schools for high school orientation. Orientation is when our counselors explain the course selection process, review BHS course offerings and then spend time answering student questions.
  • APRIL 4 thru APRIL 11: Counselors at Middle Schools for course selection. Course Selection is when counselors return to the middle school and review the student’s course selection to verify that they have chosen the correct number of classes and appropriate levels.
