Ten years ago I started with TUSD as a temporary clerical in both Payroll and Personnel departments. I then took a position in Student Services facilitating the Safe and Drug Free, Tobacco Used Prevention Education, California Health Kids Survey and Project TODAY programs. Due to funding changes, I was assigned to Estock Elementary where I stayed for four years before moving to Ladera.
My husband is retired but works part time at Knott’s Berry Farm (because he claims to get bored at home). I have 4 adult children, three granddaughters, two dogs, a cat and two fish. We enjoy family gatherings, bowling and traveling.
I am very excited to be here at Ladera and look forward to being a part of the Ladera family helping to create a positive learning environment with high expectations for all.
Hi Ladera Families,
I am so excited to be back at Ladera Elementary this year. I started working as a health clerk in the middle of last year, and I love working with the children. The students and staff are so friendly and welcoming. I love coming to work!
I was raised in Southern California and have lived in Irvine for the past 16 years. My husband and I have 3 kids in Tustin schools. Our daughter attends Beckman High School, and our sons attend Orchard Hills and Tustin Memorial Academy. We also have 2 dogs to keep us busy. Our weekends are spent attending our children’s various sporting events. In our “free” time, we enjoy camping, hiking and relaxing on the beach.
Please feel free to stop by the health office to say hi. I look forward to working with all the great Ladera families! Go Leopards!
Hello Ladera families,
I’m so happy to be a part of the leopard family! I really enjoy the time I have in the library with the students. It’s so wonderful to see the children get so excited about reading.
My free time is spent with my family and friends. I have an almost 4 year old who keeps me on my toes! I love to craft, go to the beach and go to Disneyland.
I can’t wait for another fantastic year at Ladera!
Please help us welcome our new head custodian, Mr. De La Vega! Mr. De La Vega comes to us from Heideman Elementary where he served as their Head Custodian for the last 5 years. Mr. De La Vega has worked for TUSD since 2005 at the following schools: Beckman, Pioneer and Heideman. Mr. Del La Vega has his occupational certificates, from Santa Ana College, in both management and supervision. He enjoys soccer and jiu-jitsu in his free time. His other hobbies include travel, movies, reading and exploring new restaurants. Mr. De La Vega has a daughter who is a junior in high school and participates in soccer and cross country. His younger brother is a P.E. teacher and his mother works for TUSD in the capacity of Nutrition Service specialist. We are pleased to have Mr. De La Vega as part of our Ladera family.
Hello. I was a custodian at Tustin High School for 9 years. Starting from September 2015, I became a custodian for Ladera Elementary. It is a new experience for me, a learning opportunity. In my free time, I enjoy gardening and spending time with my family, especially with my baby granddaughter.
