PTO Welcome

PRESIDENT WELCOME LETTER 2018-2019

Welcome Leopards! The weather feels like summer but it’s time to get back to school and be energized for the new school year!

I encourage all Ladera families to come together in providing the finest educational experiences for our students, inspiring a healthy mind-set and expand our humanities (commitment to community). Shining at school and exceling in education are the priorities of any good Parent Teacher Organization, the PTO. A few areas of focus are:

Academic Skills. The finest educational experiences for children means equipping them with the best teachers and tools. Inventive thinking and exploratory learning starts with the fundamentals of reading, writing, and math but expands with hands-on projects, access to modern technology, and stimulating creativity. At Ladera, our teaching professionals are all instructing at GATE standards and investing in teachers is vital. Thriving and exceeding academic standards is always invaluable! Let’s display our commitment!

Life Skills. Being excited to come to school also requires a balanced approach. Teaching leadership skills, recognizing good citizenship, and promoting physical well-ness increases confidence! Critical life skills are learned from interacting, presenting, engaging, and making friends! Enrichment resources (robotics team, performing arts, athletic teams, student council, etc.,) raises a spirit of “teaming & responsibility” encouraging character development. Let’s encourage confidence!

Unity. At Ladera, we are fortunate to have a diverse population. Inviting diversity and inclusion generates a stronger commitment to community. This belonging stimulates a safe environment, forming new bonds and lasting relationships. Having fun, making memories and sharing stories is what our children will remember the most! Let’s connect!

Finally, please offer genuine feedback. What would you suggest to the PTO so we may better help our students and our organization? Your honesty is imperative to the success of each child. The PTO is eager to get to know you. We want to hear your thoughts and are excited to serve!

Together is better.

Enthusiastically,

Mrs. T (Jin Thatcher)
