Getting to Know Mrs. Dudley - 2018 Teacher of the Year!

What colleges did you attend?

Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and University of Arizona, National University, M. Ed Instructional Leadership; emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction

What is your experience as a teacher?

I have taught elementary school for 17 years (2 years in Temecula Valley Unified School District and 15 in TUSD).

What is your favorite subject in school?

This is a tough question! If I had to choose just one, I would say reading.

Who is your favorite scholar?

Benjamin Franklin - Early life was not easy for Benjamin Franklin. Through hard work and persistence, he became a very influential, respected and successful individual.

What are some of your hobbies?

I enjoy playing tennis, reading, sewing/crafting, traveling, going to the beach and spending time with my family and friends.

What is an interesting fact about you that most people don’t know?

While in college, I had the opportunity to study abroad. I participated in a program called Semester at Sea. I spent the semester on a ship, and we studied in 11 different countries: Bahamas, Morocco, Turkey, Russia, Egypt, India, Croatia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong (territory of China) and Japan.

Mrs. Elizabeth Lindburg

Getting to know Mrs. Lindburg

What colleges did you attend?

I received my BA in Psychology at UC Santa Barbara. I then got my Teaching Credential and Masters in Teaching Elementary and Secondary Education at UC Irvine.

What is your experience as a teacher?

I've taught 13 years in Tustin Unified and 1 year in East Africa.

What is your favorite subject in school?

Math was always my favorite when I was a student. In more recent years, I’ve really grown to love teaching reading.

What are some of your hobbies?

Yoga, traveling, and playing with my kids.

What is an interesting fact about you that most people don’t know?

I've had the opportunity of living on 3 different continents: North America, Europe, and Africa. I lived in Spain and Uganda teaching English and Reading.

Mrs. Kristen Miller

What colleges did you attend?

UC Riverside, BA in Sociology

UC San Diego, Masters in Education and Teaching Credential

What is your experience as a teacher?

I have been with Tustin Unified since 2008. I began as a substitute, then RTI teacher, and I taught 4th grade at Lambert and Guin Foss. I am so excited to be teaching 2nd grade!

What is your favorite subject in school?

Reading! I love seeing students fall in love with books!

Who is your favorite scholar?

Stephen Hawking

What are some of your hobbies?

Spending time with my son! We love going to Disneyland!

What is an interesting fact about you that most people don’t know?

In college I studied abroad in Siena, Italy. While there, I volunteered to help teach English to 2nd & 3rd graders.

Mrs. Kirsten Watson

Getting to know Mrs. Watson - 2011 Teacher of the Year

What colleges did you attend?

Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo, Chapman University and Concordia.

What is your experience as a teacher?

I’ve taught for 22 years in Huntington Beach, Santa Maria and Tustin.

What are your favorite subjects in school?

Math and Science

What are some of your hobbies?

I love reading for fun! Spending time with family and friends.

What is an interesting fact about you that most people don’t know?

My family owns a cattle ranch in Santa Maria, where we raise beef cattle and grow wine grapes.
