Internships and Work-Based Learning

Internships and work-based learning offer high school students invaluable opportunities to bridge the gap between classroom knowledge and real-world experience. These experiences not only enhance their academic learning but also help them develop essential professional skills, gain insight into various careers, and build a professional network. By participating in internships, students can make informed decisions about their future career paths and acquire a competitive edge when they enter the job market or pursue higher education. Work-based learning empowers high school students to explore their passions, build confidence, and lay a strong foundation for their future success.  In addition to industry tours, classroom speakers, competitions, workshops, and student conferences, TUSD is pleased to share the work-based learning opportunities below.

Work-based Learning Opportunities in TUSD

My internship has been a narrative of personal growth, relentless learning, and a beacon illuminating my path forward.  My story is one among many, and internships are the catalyst that propel us forward toward greatness.zainab hemani, 2023 CPI intern

Both of the interns that worked for us exceeded all expectations. They were professional, creative, and passionate about the work they produced. It was hard for some of our employees to grasp that they were only high school students!  Exceptional individuals that have very bright, successful careers ahead.Brianna Shipp, sms architects
