The Information Technology Department is responsible for all of the technology in the district. This includes the design, installation of and maintenance of the district network; the configuration, distribution, and monitoring of all district endpoints (desktops, laptops and tablet devices); the development and control of information system requests and automated processes; and the deployment and management of support personnel at all district sites. 
Information Technology provides a secure connection for all district internet devices and a safe internet environment for all district stakeholders.  All network traffic including web, web filtering, Google EDU, Microsoft O365, e-mail and internal connection services are secured by the Information Technology Department.
Informational Technology additionally sets the standard for the purchase of software and hardware, maintains close to 30,000 computers and tablet devices, approves all district technology purchases, and serves as a centralized resource for communications and questions regarding technology.

In an effort to maintain a safe online environment for students, as well as provide students with an understanding of the benefits and warning of an online world, Tustin Unified has adopted a Digital Citizenship curriculum by Common Sense Media. It addresses the following topics: Internet Safety, Privacy & Security, Relationships & Communication, Cyberbullying & Digital Drama, Digital Footprint & Reputation, Self-image & Identity, Information Literacy, Creative Credit & Copyright.

Every student in grades K - 12 will participate in digital citizenship lessons provided by their school. This information will be recorded in our student assessment database.

Overview:
The Tustin Unified School District Measure S Technology Bond was passed by voters in November 2012. Measure S provides locally controlled funding to improve classrooms, labs, instructional technology for high student achievement.

Measure S funds are used to upgrade facilities for career training in science, technology, engineering, math, skilled trades, and other in-demand fields; helps attract and retain qualified teachers; protects the quality of education in TUSD, modernize classrooms, science labs, instructional technology, benefitting ALL TUSD students.

All Measure S funds support TUSD schools only and are not used for administrator's salaries. A Citizens' Oversight Committee and annual audits ensure proper spending of funds.
