Tustin Unified Students Celebrate Constitution Day
Photos of students across TUSD celebrating Constitution Day

In celebration of Constitution Day, students across TUSD enjoyed learning more about the U.S. Constitution through classroom lessons, hands-on activities and discussions surrounding its role in society today. Students at Legacy Magnet Academy explored the U.S. Constitution, discussing the rights it protects and its role in the foundations of our democracy. Tustin Memorial Academy welcomed a speaker from the National Archives while students at Red Hill shared Constitution facts with peers in their morning announcements. And, middle school students at Orchard Hills compared the foundations of our government to those of their ASB.

Constitution Day recognizes the adoption of the United States Constitution. It is normally observed on September 17, the day delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed the Constitution in 1787. Congress designated September 17 as Constitution Day and Citizenship Day on February 29, 1952, by joint resolution. It begins Constitution Week in the United States, which continues through September 23.
