TUSD Names Amanda Benitez Director, Risk Management

The Tustin Unified School District (TUSD) is excited to announce Amanda Benitez as the new Director, Risk Management. This newly created position reflects Tustin Unified’s commitment to proactive planning, employee well-being and safe learning environments across our district.  Ms. Benitez began her role on June 30.


Ms. Benitez brings nearly a decade of experience in public school operations and employee services, having served as the Benefits Manager for Alvord Unified School District where she spent five years overseeing health and welfare plans in addition to participating in District safety committees and creating safety plans.  Prior to this, Ms. Benitez worked as a benefits technician assistant for the Saddleback Valley Unified School District.

Amanda Benitez earned her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of California, Irvine.  In 2022, she was celebrated as the Classified Administrator of the Year for Alvord Unified School District, in addition to being named Classified Employee of the Year for the District Office in 2018 with Saddleback Valley Unified School District.
