TUSD Names Katie Fitch Assistant Principal of Hicks Canyon Elementary School
The Tustin Unified School District (TUSD) is excited to announce Katie Fitch as the new Assistant Principal of Hicks Canyon Elementary School. Mrs. Fitch will assume her new role mid-July.
Mrs. Fitch has dedicated 19 years to public education, joining the TUSD Family as a Special Education teacher in 2008. She served as a Special Education resource teacher, intervention lead teacher and Title I community schools specialist before leaving Tustin Unified to become an administrative intern for Newport Mesa Unified School District. Throughout her career, she has focused on building supportive campus environments to ensure all students can flourish. Mrs. Fitch has a proven track record of success in developing strong relationships with both staff and families, promoting student success.
"I’m thrilled to join the Hicks Canyon Elementary community as the new assistant principal,” shared Mrs. Fitch. “I look forward to making a positive impact by supporting our students and building strong connections with families, students, and staff."

Katie Fitch earned her Master of Arts in educational administration from Concordia University, her Master of Science in Special Education from National University and her bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from Chapman University. In 2021, she was celebrated as Teacher of the Year for Heritage Elementary School.
