TUSD Names Erick Fineberg Principal Hillview High School

The Tustin Unified School District (TUSD) is excited to announce Erick Fineberg as the new Principal of Hillview High School.  Mr. Fineberg will assume his new role on July 1, 2025, pending Board approval on May 19.

Mr. Fineberg has been a part of the TUSD Family for more than 16 years, having served as principal at Beswick Elementary and Currie Middle School prior to leading Tustin Connect since 2019.  He brings with him a long history of achievement throughout his 22 years of experience in public education.

“I am incredibly excited to join the Hillview High School community,” shared Mr. Fineberg.  “It’s an honor to follow in the footsteps of Mr. O'Donoghue.  I’m grateful for the past six years with Tustin Connect and the collaboration and growth we experienced together. I now look forward to working alongside Hillview's incredible staff, students, and community.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Fineberg to his new role,” stated Superintendent Dr. Mark Johnson.  “He has a passion for student success and a dedication to building learning environments where all students feel cared for and know they belong.  We are confident that his commitment to collaboration and community-building will serve our Hillview community well.”

Mr. Fineberg has a master's in teaching and curriculum from the University of California, Los Angeles and a bachelor of arts in psychology from the University of California, Irvine.  In 2021, he was celebrated as the Alternative/Continuation Education Principal of the Year by the Association of California School Administrators, in addition to recognitions as TUSD Middle School Principal of the Year and Elementary Principal of the Year in 2017 and 2011, respectively.
