Monique Yessian Returns to TUSD as Director, Personnel Services

Monique Yessian has been named Director, Personnel Services effective July 1, 2026.  Ms. Yessian brings with her more than 20 years of experience in public education, having served as Director, Human Resources for Saddleback Unified School District following her role as Director, Student Services with Tustin Unified. She has also served as assistant principal and guidance counselor.

“I am honored and excited to return to Tustin Unified School District in the role of Director, Personnel Services,” shared Ms. Yessian.  “Having had the opportunity to serve this district previously, I look forward to supporting our employees and contributing to a positive and collaborative workplace culture.”

“We are excited to welcome Ms. Yessian back to TUSD,” shared Chief Personnel Officer Maurita De La Torre, Ed.D.  “We are confident that she will have a positive impact on the work of our Personnel Team in supporting our staff across the district.”

Ms. Yessian earned both her master’s degree in school counseling and her bachelor’s degree in child development and family studies from California State University, Long Beach.  She was previously honored as Student Services Administrator of the Year by the Association of California School Administrators, Region 17.
