Highlights from the May 19 Regular Meeting of the Board of Education

The Board of Education opened their regular meeting by welcoming Tustin Toyota's Glenn Kashima for the drawing of this year's Drive for Engagement. In its twelfth year, Tustin Toyota's Drive for Engagement program seeks to sustain overall student involvement across TUSD by highlighting seniors who model dedication to academics. Based on the drawing Monday evening, Tustin Toyota will award a new Toyota Corolla to a TUSD graduate from Foothill High School at their ceremony on May 28.
In addition, the Board celebrated our District Classified Employee of the Year, Ann Palazzo from Loma Vista Elementary. Ann was celebrated for her servant's heart, her commitment to ensuring all students are successful and her support for the teachers at Loma Vista.
The Board also honored Hicks Canyon's Tracy Havens in celebration of her recognition as 2025 Orange County Teacher of the Year. Tracy is one of only six from Orange County's more than 22,000 educators to earn this distinction. She will now go on to represent Orange County at the state level.
