Hicks Canyon Celebrates Lunar New Year with Lion Dance and Activities

Hicks Canyon welcomed the Year of the Horse with vibrant, campus-wide learn-and-create opportunities and a spectacular lion dance performance. Students explored the traditions of Lunar New Year through hands-on crafts, while teachers shared red envelopes filled with small surprises, including Husky Hurrahs. The week concluded with a special assembly featuring energetic lion dancers and drummers, enjoyed by all of our Huskies. As students practiced sharing in Mandarin, they wished one another “Gong Xi Fa Cai,” extending hopes for prosperity and good health in the year ahead.
