Hewes, LMA and TMA Honored at 2026 CA School Recognition Program

Hewes Principal Sahra Tanikawa and Assistant Principal Lisa Banuk, Legacy Magnet Academy Principal Jennifer Harrison and Assistant Principal Ryon Tanara, and Tustin Memorial Academy Principal Brooke Carreras joined Superintendent MarkJohnson and Assistant Superintendents MaggieVillegas and Chris Matos at the Disneyland Hotel for the California School Recognition Program.

Hewes Middle School was honored as a California Distinguished School, celebrated for closing the achievement gap and delivering exceptional student performance. In addition, Tustin Memorial Academy was honored as a California Blue Ribbon School Nominee, celebrated for its especially high levels of academic success for all students. And, Legacy Magnet Academy was honored as a California Exemplary Dual Enrollment School, highlighting its outstanding dual enrollment program that provides students with access to college-level coursework, strong support systems, and meaningful pathways for future success.
