Assistant Superintendent, Special Education, Dr. Amy Lambert Announces Retirement

It is bittersweet to announce that Dr. Amy Lambert has announced her retirement, effective July 10, 2023.  Dr. Lambert has served in public education for more than 34 years.  She joined the Tustin Unified School District in 2016 as the Assistant Superintendent, Special Education.

“It’s been a privilege to work with the outstanding educators of the Tustin Unified School District, and I will treasure the memories of our time together,” explained Dr. Lambert.  “I’m proud of the support our team has been able to provide our most vulnerable students, and I am confident that TUSD will continue to be a District where all students are valued and loved.”

As the Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Lambert oversees the Special Education Division, ensuring a full continuum of programs and services are available to meet the unique needs of our students in the Least Restrictive Environment.  Dr. Lambert has built a strong team with the Special Education department.  Together, they provide exceptional individualized services to students while helping them become as independent as possible.

Dr. Lambert has dedicated her career to changing the lives of students.  Prior to joining TUSD, Dr. Lambert served as an administrator in charge of Career and Technical Education, and oversaw Special Education and Student Services for the Beverly Hills Unified School District and Glendale Unified School District.

“Dr. Lambert is a dedicated, caring and knowledgeable District leader who has done incredible work to support our Special Education students, families and staff,” noted Superintendent Dr. Mark Johnson. “Her valuable contributions to our community will be felt for many years  to come, and she will be greatly missed."
