Ladera Named as Honor Roll School
Ladera Elementary has been selected as a 2013 Honor Roll school by the California Business for Education Excellence (CBEE) Foundation. Ladera has been recognized for demonstrating consistent high student academic achievement. The Honor Roll schools are consistently raising student achievement and have made significant progress toward closing the achievement gap among all students. Read Across America & Dr. Seuss' Birthday

This Monday, March 2nd, is Read Across America and Dr. Seuss' birthday, and we are inviting parents to come and be a guest reader! Read a Dr.Seuss book to your child's class or any class (please state if you have a classroom preference). Readers are needed in the morning from 9:00am-9:30am in the Library.  Also, we need volunteers during the lunch recess hour to draw "Cat in the Hat" faces on our students.  A continental breakfast will be provided for all our parent helpers. Author Scott Sussman Visits LaderaSeed
Scott Sussman, author of Silly the Seed and Mark and the Molecule Maker, will be visiting Ladera on Wednesday, March 4th, from 9:00am-10:30am. He will be presenting and reading from his delightful books, one of which is his newest work, Fred and the Monster. Students can meet the author and purchase personally autographed books by completing an order form and returning CASH to their teacher by March 4th. "Back to the 80s" PTO Spring Fundraiser

Join us on Saturday, March 28th, for Ladera PTO's Annual Spring Fundraiser at the Tustin Ranch Golf Club. Have you ever wondered about the "Aeries SIS" button located here on our home page (center front)? The Aeries Student Information System (SIS) allows you see your student's information such as parents' names, home address, phone numbers, emergency contacts, medical record, attendance, etc. When registering, you will be asked to enter your student's perm ID#, phone number and verification number. Please contact Nancy Titterud in the front office to get that information.
  

My Favorite Teacher Contest  

Barnes & Noble is sponsoring a "My Favorite Teacher Contest" as a way for your child to tell the community how much their favorite teacher is appreciated. Contestants are asked to write an essay, poem, or thank-you letter explaining how a teacher has influenced their life and why they appreciate and admire him or her. Winners will receive special recognition at their local store during a ceremony for the winning teacher. For details on how you can enter the contest , click HERE


Support the Tustin Public Schools Foundation by shopping at your local Barnes & Noble book store between March 30th - April 19th. Present the bookfair voucher and a percentage will be contributed back to TPSF.
