Parents & Students

PARENTS & STUDENTS FYI

Health Services

The Rights and Responsibilities Handbook contains various health related sections. These include Immunization and Vaccination Information, Medication, and various health-related screenings (p 3), and comments about Home-Hospital teaching (p 2). In addition, parents are advised that immunizations, tuberculosis tests, and physicals are required.

Parents are responsible for keeping their own records of all immunizations, TB tests, and physicals. They will be asked to provide this record at registration. Kindergarten students and students new to the country may register, but may not begin school unless immunizations are current.

Health Related Screenings

Kindergarten Students and Students New to the Country

Kindergarten students and students new to the country may register, but may not begin school unless immunizations are current.

First Grade Physical

Kindergarten students may register but may not begin school unless immunizations are current. When your child is enrolled in first grade, an appropriate health/physical examination to include a TB Skin Test is required. This is to be completed no earlier than 18 months prior to first grade entry or no later than 90 days after the first day of school. If the school does not receive the student’s physical examination results on the state form PM171A (with TB results) on the 90th day after school begins, the student will be excluded from attending school.
