TUSD Announces Administrative
Appointments for 2011-12 |
The Tustin Unified School District has announced
the following administrative appointments for the
2011-12 school year:
Jeremy Powell has been
named Director of Information Technology. He
replaces Jim Wolff, who left the school district.
Powell has worked in education for 17 years,
serving as program manager in Technical Services for
the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools.
He also has been an adjunct faculty member in the
Information Systems Technology Department at
Riverside Community College District.
Additionally, Powell has served as chair of the
Technical Advisory Committee for the Corporation for
Education Network Initiatives in California and
instructor for the California Educational Technology
Professional Association’s Chief Technology Mentor
Program. He has a bachelor’s degree in computer
science from the University of California,
Riverside.
Garrett Kerr has been selected as
assistant principal at Pioneer Middle School. He
will take over for Eric Kilian, who became principal
of Robert Heideman Elementary School.
Kerr
has been a teacher in Tustin Unified for six years –
all at Lambert School. He has taught fourth and
fifth grades, and served as technology coordinator
at the school. For the past three years, he also
served as an elementary teaching assistant
principal.
In 2009, Kerr was named Lambert
Teacher of the Year and Discovery Education Star
Educator. He has a bachelor’s degree in liberal
studies and a master’s degree in administration from
California State University, Fullerton.
