TUSD Administrative Appointments ~ May 2011
The Tustin Unified School District has announced the
following administrative appointments for the 2011-12
school year:
Eric Kilian, assistant principal at Pioneer Middle School, has been appointed principal of Robert Heideman Elementary School. Eric has been in public education for 11 years – all in the Tustin school district. He has taught fifth grade at Helen Estock Elementary School and sixth- and seventh-grade Core (reading, language arts and social studies) at Hewes Middle School. He was named TUSD Teacher of the Year and Orange County Teacher of the Year in 2007-08, and semifinalist in the 2008 California Teacher of the Year program. For the past two years, he has been a member of the administrative team at Pioneer, which was named 2011 Middle School of the Year by the Orange County Register. Derek Pinto has been named principal of Ladera Elementary School. Currently, he is principal of Yermo School (K-8) in the Silver Valley Unified School District. Derek has worked in education for 14 years. He has served as a summer school principal and middle school assistant principal in Northern California, elementary teacher in Fontana and teacher/assistant director at Technos International College in Tokyo, Japan. Katy Sheyka, Response to Instruction (RtI) intervention specialist/teacher on special assignment (TOSA), will become principal of Loma Vista Elementary School. Katy has been involved in education for 16 years – eight years in Tustin Unified. She has served as an elementary teacher assistant principal, TOSA/interventionist and fourth-grade teacher at C.C. Lambert Elementary School. She is a certificated RtI trainer for elementary and middle schools in the District, National Board Certified teacher in literacy development and was named TUSD Teacher of the Year in 2007. Previously announced (April 2011) administrative appointments for the 2011-12 school year: Molly Murphy, principal of Loma Vista Elementary School, has been named principal of Peters Canyon Elementary School. Kelly Fresch, principal of Barbara Benson Elementary School, has been appointed principal of Guin Foss Elementary School. Norma Lemus, principal of Robert Heideman Elementary School, will become principal of Barbara Benson Elementary School. Nancy Jenkins, principal of both Guin Foss and Helen Estock elementary schools, will remain full time as principal of Estock School. Ryan Bollenbach, principal of both Ladera and Marjorie Veeh elementary schools, will stay full time as principal of Veeh School. |
