TUSD's Kindergarten Readiness Program
The Tustin Unified School
District’s Kindergarten Readiness Program is conducting
early registration for the 2011-12 school year. The free
half-day program is offered for four-year-old children
living within the school attendance areas of Beswick,
Estock, Heideman, Lambert, Thorman and Veeh elementary
schools.
The program is funded through grants from the Children and Families Commission of Orange County and California Department of Education. Children who will be four years old on or before Dec. 2 of this year and live within the District’s designated school boundaries may be eligible to attend the program. In order for a child to attend preschool, families must qualify based on family size and income. The goal of the program is to prepare children for kindergarten by meeting their cognitive, language, social-emotional, physical and creative needs. The curriculum is based on the California Department of Education’s Pre-Kindergarten Learning and Development Guidelines. Enrollment packets are available at the Kindergarten Readiness office on the Utt Middle School campus, 13601 Browning Ave. Packets will be accepted weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For more information, call (714) 730-7592. |
