TUSD Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony
for Foothill High School Event Center

The Tustin Unified School District is holding a groundbreaking ceremony for Foothill High School’s new Event Center at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23.

The new Foothill Event Center is approximately 33,000 square feet and will include a lobby, basketball and volleyball courts, storage, stage and platform, and theatrical lighting. In addition, there will be a two-story building that houses four rooms to be used for dance classes, weight lifting, wrestling and physical education.

The new gym was designed by NTD Architecture and will be constructed by Barnhart Balfour Beatty. It is scheduled to be completed by spring 2012.

The project will cost approximately $13 million and is being funded through the Measure L campus modernization program.
