Hold Distinguished School Celebrations

Guin Foss, Myford and Tustin Ranch elementary schools in the Tustin Unified School District will hold 2010 California Distinguished School celebrations in the coming weeks. All three schools were named 2010 distinguished schools by the California Department of Education.

The schedule is as follows: Myford School – Wednesday, June 2 at 6:30 p.m. (ceremony during Open House Night); Guin Foss School – Thursday, June 3 at 6:30 p.m. (ceremony during Open House Night); and Tustin Ranch School – Wednesday, June 9 at 9 a.m.

Guin Foss, Myford and Tustin Ranch won the Distinguished School awards based upon the quality of their programs and other criteria such as school leadership, student achievement/test scores, curriculum and instruction, technology, school environment, and parent and community support. This is the second time Myford has won the award (2006).

Additionally, all three schools will be honored on Friday, June 4 by the California Department of Education at the Distinguished Schools awards ceremony at the Disneyland Hotel.
