TUSD Holds Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
for New Plaza at Tustin High School

The Tustin Unified School District is holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new plaza at Tustin High School at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 22. Tustin High’s “Light Up the Night” Open House will follow the ceremony at 7:15 p.m.

The Tustin High Plaza features Spanish revival architecture, new landscaping, lighting, activity stage, sound system and bell tower. It was designed by NTD Architecture and constructed by Barnhart Balfour Beatty.

“We look forward to a new beginning at Tustin High while we celebrate the past,” Principal Jonathan Blackmore said.

The total cost of the project was approximately $4.2 million, which was funded through the Measure G campus modernization program. Measure G was passed in 2002 by the voters to repair and renovate the 20 oldest schools in the Tustin school district.
