At Heideman Elementary, we strive to maximize the academic potential of all of our students.  We do so by creating a safe, positive learning environment, by passionately focusing on the art of teaching and using best practices, emphasizing student learning, and by responding when extra support is needed.  We  welcome parents in the important partnership of supporting their student's academic success.

NASA / JPL Visit Heideman

  Heideman was able to experience a milestone in History by getting to touch and hold wheels from Rovers Curiosity and Sojourner. How cool is that! There was a $15000.00 model of Curiosity and the drill and housing used for taking rock samples we learned so many things. Did you know that when Curiosity’s wheel rotates it leaves marks in the Martian soil the help JPL determine the distance traveled and also spells out JPL in Morse code? How about the drill that takes samples from rocks on Mars is the same one you can buy at Home Depot only with some modification made by JPL. It was very exciting and we thank our friends from JPL for coming and sharing with us and our School PTO President for making this happen. It was a great show.
