Getting to know Ms. Barlet

What colleges did you attend?

Cal State Fullerton for my BA in Liberal Studies and Teaching Credential, and Azusa Pacific University for my Master’s in Education and School Administration and my Administrative Credential.

What is your experience as a teacher?

I’ve taught in the Tustin Unified School District for 22 years. 16 years were at Benson where I have taught 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 and 2 years were at Tustin High where I was the Activities Director. This is my 5th year at Guin Foss.

What is your favorite subject in school?

Math

Who is your favorite scholar?

Eleanor Roosevelt

What are some of your hobbies?

Baking, cooking, reading, collecting the Wicked Witch of the West from the Wizard of Oz, spending time with my best friends

What are a few interesting facts about you that most people don’t know?

I own a baking business with my niece and sister in law called "Three B's Scratch Desserts." I love making cupcakes!

USC for my BA in Sociology

What is your experience as a teacher?

I am starting my career at Guin Foss as a first year teacher! Student taught in 3rd and 6th grade in the Fullerton School District.

What is your favorite subject in school?

Math

Who is your favorite scholar?

Thomas Edison

What are some of your hobbies?

Hiking, running, going to the beach and spending time with my family and friends.

What is an interesting fact about you that most people don’t know?

I love all sports and played soccer at USC.

Mrs. Katie Soto

Getting to know Mrs. Soto

What college did you attend?

Brigham Young University

What is your experience as a teacher?

I taught English in Taiwan for six months. Before coming to Guin Foss, I taught third grade at Thorman Elementary.

What is your favorite subject in school?

Math

Who is your favorite scholar?

Helen Keller is my favorite scholar because of her example of resilience.

What are some of your hobbies?

I love hiking, traveling and running. I also enjoy spending time with my friends and family.

What is an interesting fact about your that most people don't know?

I have the travel bug! I've traveled to 13 countries and I lived in Chile for a year and a half as a missionary.
