Currie Middle School is an academically focused learning environment, where students and staff are held accountable for mastery of grade level concepts. Academic programs are provided for all levels of learners, including honors, intervention, or enrichment. Currie’s academic programs match those offered at all Tustin Unified School District middle schools.
Along with modernized classrooms and state of the art science labs, Currie has a new School Activity Center to support its physical education program and athletics.
Currie’s school wide implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Support has reduced its office referrals and truancy rate consistently each year. Big Cats are ALERT is our motto! ALERT stands for Attentive, Likable, Eager, Reliable, and Thoughtful. As students apply these core values in all areas, they continue to find success in their personal and academic endeavors.
Currie Middle School was built in 1973 and remodeled in 2010. We share an office with Thorman Elementary school, but the schools now operate as two schools. Mr. Erick Fineberg serves as principal of Currie Middle School, and our students are lucky to have assistant principal, Mr. Michael Velez.
